Home is where...

the Marine Corps sends you! That has been many places this last year. It has been a long time since I have posted anything, but a lot has gone on in our life this year. It defiantly was a year of change. Logan graduated TBS. We packed up our house in Quantico in May and headed to Pensacola. Logan had a flight contract so that was the plan for the moment. Well, we soon found out that he has some issues with one of his eyes. Nothing that will cause him harm, but would hinder him while flying. So we made the decision for him to change his MOS (his job in the Marine Corps) instead of waiting around for his eye to maybe get better or not and his career suffer later on . Logan didn't have his heart set on flying he just loves being a Marine so to answer every ones question. No, he is not upset about all of this. So as most of you know the Marine Corps takes a long time to do anything so we knew all of this was happening around the time Addison was born, but had no idea where or when we would go anywhere. We did not tell people because we were hiding it. We just didn't have any answers and it was a waiting game on our end. So we traveled home in Oct with our little bundle of joy so the family could all meet her because we weren't sure if we might get orders overseas and not have time to visit family. It was a pretty short visit, but little did I know that come thanksgiving I would be in Ohio until the middle of Jan. Logan re designated to Ground Supply which was his first choice and they sent us to Cherry Point, NC. Not the greatest place to go, but in the end it is close to family and we want Addison to know them. He had to go to yet another school in camp lejeune, NC about 45 min from cherry Point so I went to my parents house until the middle of Jan. Addison, Mack, Oscar and I moved to Cherry Point the middle of Jan and Logan commuted to school until the beginning of March. He just checked in his new unit and is really enjoying it so far. So that is the short version of our last year. It has once again topped the year before so I can't wait to see what is in store for us next! I am going to try to keep up with this a little better now that I feel settled for the first time in a long while!

Better late than never!

Our little girl decided to arrive August 10th 2009. (One day after my due date) She was 21 and 1/4 inches long and weighed 7lbs 8oz. My labor was long, but she is so worth it! Logan and I are having a lot of fun with her. She has a fun personality. She loves getting a bath, going for walks in her stroller and swinging in her swing. She lets us sleeps some nights, but sometimes she decides she wants to stay up all night. lol I guess we are lucky she sleeps at all! Here are a few pics even though I have taken more in the last 3 weeks than I have all year!

Addison's Room

We pretty much have her room finished now. I need to get a few little things, but for the most part we are ready for her to arrive. Her room was a lot of fun to put together and it turned out way better than I imagined. It is so pretty. Logan even thinks so! Here are a few pics.

Long time...

without a post. Things have been busy here at the Ash house. Logan graduated TBS (for those of you that don't know it stand for The Basic School) May 14th and I think we were both happy that part of his career is over. Probably him more than me. lol It was not so bad knowing it was only six months of our lives. The movers came that following Monday and packed up all of our things. We were then on the road to Pensacola by Tues evening. We were worn out and I was also 28 weeks pregnant so we took it easy and only drove about 3 hours that night. We stopped in Atlanta the next day to see Logans aunt and uncle. I just love them and I am so glad we are a little bit closer to them now.
Once we got to Pcola we stayed with Tricia and Lane until out house was ready. I am so thankful to have her as a friend. We had a good time together. They have a female boxer that Mack was quite fond of and I think they are pretty attached to each other! We moved in our house last Tues and had a horrible experience with the movers. Of all the moves we have done this was by far the worst. We are trying to find the positive and move on because really what can we do. lol
Our house is great. We have an inground pool which is awesome in this Florida heat. Our animals seem to be getting settled in just in time for us to uproot their lives again with a new baby. Speaking of baby, I am 33 weeks pregnant now! We are busy trying to get her room together. I will post more later and put some pics up of the past month!

A little christmas surprise....

We found out a few weeks ago we are expecting a baby in early Aug! We are really excited. Our family is happy and they were surprised. I don't think my parents thought we would ever have kids. Logan and I will be married 8 yrs in March so they have all been asking for a long time. I am only about 8 weeks now, but I am going to start posting pics soon. Hope you all had a great christmas!

Stop on our way...

Well, we left the condo yesterday in the A.M. and on our way to my parents we managed to see both of my grandparents because we took the back way home. We surprised my grandma Betty and she was so happy to see us. Made me happy to see her smile. I love visiting with her and wish that we did live closer. We then went down the road about 18 miles and stopped at my Grandma Janet's. She finally has broke down and decided she needs a laptop. Logan found her a good deal and we are going to get her all setup. She is going to love it. By this time it was almost 4 and my mom was off of work and my dad was up since he works nights now so we took all of our stuff to their house. We stayed a few minutes and then went to Logan's grandparents. It was nice to see all of our family and I look forward to the next two weeks visiting with all of them. I have to say though I am sick of living out of a suitcase! I can't wait to have a house again.

Little delay..

SOOO...the Marine Corps threw us for a little loop. We had the movers come and got the house rented back in the middle of Aug all in the same week. Logan went to work on that Friday and who do you think called? The Marine Corps to tell him that his orders have changed to Oct 21st. He can not report sooner because they changed his orders because they don't have room. We have heard rumors it is also because he has a flight contract and they have too many in that class. Who knows. Either way I had only packed close anticipating going to Quantico by Sept 1st. Can you say shopping!

We are fortunate enough that Logan's family has a condo downtown that they don't live in and they are letting us use. It is fun and I am trying to take everything a day at a time. I am really not that stressed out and just enjoying the time with Logan before he gets busy with TBS. Also, it has allowed us time to hang out with our friends in cbus a little longer. I really am going to miss the friends we have made. They are like our family so I know we will keep in touch with them! I am going to try to be better at keeping this updated, but I have a feeling it will have to wait until we get moved to our new house the middle of Oct.

This is the view from the 16th floor of the condo. It is so pretty!

About Me

My photo
I am 28 years old (wow where did the time go) Married to my best friend for the past 8 years. We are having a baby girl in early Aug. We are naming her Addison Paige and we are so excited to meet her. We have moved six times in the past 8 years due to the fact that Logan is a Marine. It is sometimes a trying life, but we mostly enjoy it. I am going to try my best to keep up with this blog better once our little one arrives!
